Will the magazine work out?
The first weeks of this term already passed by. Unfortunately our plan for these weeks didn’t work out how we expected it to be. A lot of workshops couldn’t take place: Sometimes there were sporting activities at school, any kind of meetings, public holidays or Sharifa and I were ill. I had Malaria, but I recovered quickly. So after all we still have two schools out of five where we could not do a single workshop within these almost four weeks.
Our situation is not as bad as it sounds, we also have schools we can really count on. In Egass we have a completely new group of students since the beginning of this term. All our old students have finished school. I am glad that until now all the meetings could take place in this school. We have more than 60 friendly and motivated students with a small lack of writing experience, but that doesn’t matter. The students are supporting each other very well.
Our plan was to create a magazine together with our students and to sell it in Germany. Although we had some difficulties we are not yet willing to give up. We already have some articles that are quite good. We also learned enough in the nine months we already spent here not to forget to include some buffer time. Everything is still possible.
