Goal Workshop

Goal Workshop

On the 8th February 2014 almost the whole board members of AIM. Germany were traveling for the first time together to Ghana. The main  reason of this trip was an AIM. goal workshop in Elmina, which took six days. We had big expectations of this workshop: collective revision of the vision and mission of AIM., definition of a (new) orientation of the training center, specification of planning goals and its sub goals as well as its activities including deadlines and indicators for their inspections. AIM. was able to gain two professional presenters: David Akoto Minta of the public regional development organisation CEDECOM and Kojo Okyere, lecturer at the University of Cap Coast. Already the first day showed that AIM. Ghana and AIM. Germany have the same visions on the future of AIM. in general and for the training center in special. Therefore time and energy could be focused on the development of the planning goals and its details. We worked on AIM. organisation charts, set up structures for reporting and the handling of problems; discussed target groups, prioritised weltwärts projects for the future and many more. Thanks to the professional moderation all scheduled tasks for the workshop could be met.

For AIM. the goal workshop was a big success. The reached goals and the strengthening of personal contacts showed, that the long planned and many times shifted meeting was absolutely necessary and the effort worth it. The new goals for the next two years are ambitious and due to insecure financial support, missing human ressources and all work done by unsalaried members, maybe not convertible to 100 percent. For the first time in AIM.’s 10 years history future goals were set up on a personal and bilateral mode.
